All of us must have a “WHY” in life and for each of us it must become our Magnificent Obsession or stuff will never get done – our lives will never be lived as they were intended to be lived – full and rich and bursting with the promise of a better tomorrow.

Your why will be different than mine, it will be different than your spouse or any of your children, different than your closest friend. We may complement a loved one but we must have, must develop, or create our own “why”.  This why is about you, what makes you ‘tick’. The “why” that prompts us to get up in the morning will be different at various stages of our journey. It’s all good – all this that makes us singular in our accomplishments and therefore more terrific stuff gets done. My motto in life is to “Delight In The Differences” — the reason is …

Well, first of all, I have learned everyone  ‘comes to the table’ with different experiences and expectations and I appreciate that. You are made up of wonderful qualities and events that make you uniquely YOU – and that is a very nice thing. Not that I would ever presume to believe we have only ‘good’ in our past. A lot of our days may have been filled with sadness, regret or pain but that can be advantageous, too. Don’t ever dwell on wishing you could change your past. No matter what trials, terrible occurrence, or painful times may have made up your yesterdays I know you can use all those experiences to make you the most incredible, strong, and beautiful person for today and all your tomorrows.

I love and adore being a wife, a Mom and a Grammy. I personally love talking with people about travel, entrepreneurship, networking, positive living, great marriages and my faith.  I love the internet and social networking. I love learning and I thrive on reading wonderful books. I love listening to life stories. I love making a change for the good in any situation. I also write all the time and have since I was a little girl. It is my hope to develop my writing into a marketable talent that I will use to earn money in order support and uphold one of my passions – benevolent missions.

I had a life before marriage, although it is hard to imagine my life without Lowell. I will leave my growing up years for another time and for now tell you that in our marriage of 30 years, our immediate family has flown on well over one hundred flights, which have taken us to Belize, Argentina, Africa, Ukraine, and Honduras to work with church planting, orphanages, hospitals, and house and church building. We lived seven years overseas in South America and West Africa. We have been privileged to have gotten our hands dirty working side by side with God’s precious children that have so little. We still have friends, brothers and sisters in our faith in each of these places, plus India, China, Panama, Zambia, Brazil – and on and on. It has been a life full of adventure and wonder and sometimes there were days clouded with doubt and fear.

So, one of my why’s is like I said, Benevolent Missions – that’s what I want to do along side of Lowell. I want to make a difference to a few good folk who need a helping hand. Will following through with this one goal make any of my other roles in life of any less value? I think not. I believe that following through with this dream will only enhance who I am in all of my other roles.  That’s how we’re made … needing to strive after something big that makes your heart sing.

Do you have your own Magnificent Why? Are you consumed with a passion that will leave a legacy? All I have to say here is:  if you do know your ‘why’ then, Hooray!!    if you don’t, then search it out and claim it. Live your passion today and tomorrow and that will make all you do truly wonderful.

And so, I am what I am –

Always Believing In and Expecting the Best I am Blissfully, and Magnificently Obsessed.
